Advancing Educational Equity Through Storytelling

I Heart College is an educational initiative providing college and career readiness resources for first-generation, low-income, and underserved students.

STRENGTHENING COLLEGE ACCESS • SUPPORTING STUDENT SUCCESS • BRIDGING THE OPPORTUNITY GAP • CAREER READINESS FOR ALL

Our Mission

At I Heart College, we believe that information is power—and that access to the right information can change the direction of a student’s life. Our mission is to introduce students, especially those who are first-generation, low-income, underserved, and underrepresented, to educational and career pathways they may not otherwise be exposed to. Too often, students are expected to make major life decisions without a full understanding of the opportunities available to them. We exist to help close that gap. Through authentic storytelling, we share real experiences from students, educators, professionals, and community members who have navigated their own journeys through education and career development. These stories are designed to be relatable, honest, and impactful, helping students see what is possible for their own futures. Our goal is not only to inspire, but to inform—giving students clearer insight into the steps, options, and pathways available through college, trade schools, and career training. We aim to help students build both awareness and confidence as they consider their next steps. I Heart College supports educators, counselors, schools, and community organizations by providing a resource that can be used in classrooms, workshops, and student success programs to expand opportunity and strengthen college and career readiness.

Defining Our Purpose

Why It Matters

Every student deserves access to information, opportunity, and the confidence to envision a future beyond their current circumstances.

Too often, students are asked to make important decisions about college, careers, and life after high school without being exposed to the full range of possibilities available to them. At I Heart College, we believe that information is power, and that awareness is often the first step toward opportunity.

Students Sitting Outdoors

Through authentic stories from students, educators, professionals, and community members, the I Heart College documentary helps students gain insight into higher education, career pathways, and the experiences of those who have successfully navigated their own journeys. By connecting students with real stories and real perspectives, we aim to inspire curiosity, encourage exploration, and help students ask meaningful questions about their future.

When students are given information, exposure, and a clearer understanding of what is possible, they are better equipped to make informed decisions, pursue their goals with confidence, and create opportunities for themselves and their communities.

Information creates opportunity. Exposure creates possibility.
